Quick Movie Reflection of “One Battle After Another”
Hi I’m El Budda and this is my movie reflection from a Buddhist perspective of the movie One Battle After another.
One Battle After another was a very entertaining movie and related a lot to what we are going through when it comes to our government.
It is almost a fantasy for people who may have an issue with the current state of the Government and wish they could do something about it.
What I do like about this film is that it was grounded where characters had actual risks and consequences for what they were doing. Most Characters are not innocent and shows the grey of this world as opposed to seeing things black and white. Definitely portrays the reality of cause and effect in our lives.
There is a specific suspenseful scene where they have very creative cinematography. It pulls you into the scene and makes you feel like you are part of it. I saw this in 70mm IMAX format and I highly recommend it.
Life may seem like one struggle after another but when you see each struggle as an opportunity for growth you relief yourself from a lot of the emotional hardship. Benicio del Toros Character is a perfect example of that. Things keep being thrown at him but he is cool as a cucumber thought the film compared the Leanardo DiCaprio’s character who seems to be in emotional distress for most of the film.
There is a Buddhist quote by a person who I consider a mentor named Dasailuky Ikeda that goes: Life is a multi-event competition. Even if you lose in one event, you can still win in another. What matters is finding where you can succeed. The key is to never give up. The more you struggle, the more your unique character will shine.

This movie was very entertaining and very real to life. When we finally understand that what is important is people and sacrificing people now for a better tomorrow will only lead towards more suffering. The treasures of the heart are what matters. Thank you.
